Mother Monster

Out of all of the symbols in todays pop cultures, my ultimate hero and style icon is a Miss Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta... more widely known as Lady Gaga. She inspires me daily with her  fearless style, her giving heart, and her bravery to stand up for what she believes in. She loves what she does and uses her international stardom as a tool to change in the world.

Although Gaga is known for her eccentric and over-the-top costumes, it's really her casual (at least, Gaga's version of casual) outfits that she wears while in transit that I like best. So, these are all photos of her traveling, getting in and out of cars, or walking to her latest venue!

My Clothing, Tis of Thee

Shades of Inspiration

I have been absolutely dying (no pun intended!) to color my hair an unusual color for a few months now. Sneak Preview

Here's a little sneak peek of what I'm working on for my first project in 3D Design! We really hit the ground running! We were told to choose an animal, which we are going to make a wire sculpture out of! Tomorrow we learn how to solder (which I had no idea was spelled that way)! I'll upload some more WIP pictures once we get to work. This may turn out to be an art blog, yet!

Back to School

Today was my first official day as an art student! I only had one art class today and it was art history. I'm looking forward to tomorrow, though, because I have 3D Design, which is the only art class where I'll be physically in the art building doing stuff with my hands (well, probably not on the first day, but eventually)! I'm also taking a 2D design class, but the professor just had her baby, so it's going to be an online class??? I have to use the school computers for the class because I have to use a special program... though I haven't gotten any emails about it yet, so I'm kind of freaking out (!!!). But. It'll definitely be interesting.

In other news, I am trying so hard to resist spending my money on a ukelele instead of saving it for textbooks!! I've been wanting one for a while, but last night I went on a Youtube purge and found several videos of cute songs I would like to learn how to play. For your entertainment, here are some examples! Break Projects

My sister gave me a bunch of art supplies for Christmas, so I've been working on some paintings just for fun. The first is a gift for my best friend, who's going to Florida for the semester to do the Disney College Program. She gave me a painting with one of my favorite quotes for Christmas, so I thought I'd return the favor, even though it's a little late (though, her birthday is on January 11th, so I could just say I saved it for her birthday, right? Right.). It's a Walt Disney quote, and both the lettering and the little filigree/plant things were hand-painted by me.

The second is a WIP by me, just something I'm doing for fun. The pink of the helmet is actually nail polish, because I wanted a bright pink and I liked that it was sort of iridescent. 

Resolutions 2013

I don't think I've ever really sat down and made a list of NewYear's Resolutions. I figured since I'm on a roll already by making this blog, I might as well go the whole 9 yards and make a list! And the best part is, I'll have it saved so that there's less chance of me forgetting!

• Eat healthier! - I'm pretty sure everyone has this on their list, but I really do have terrible eating habits! I drink soda everyday, more than once a day. I would choose pizza and pasta over greens any day! I'm not hoping to lose wait or anything, I'm just looking to eat better and maybe feel a bit healthier as a result. 

• Get a job! - I need a job sooooo badly! Luckily, a frozen yogurt place has opened less than a block away from my dorm, so I'll have to look into that once I get back from my break.

• Save money! - Because I don't have a job (yet!), I need to learn to save the money that I do get, instead of spending it on useless little things. Sometimes I just don't know where my money disappears to!

• Get crafty! - I see awesome tutorials and DIYs on tumblr in pinterest all the time, and I always say that I'll get around to doing them, but I never do. The internet is such an amazing resource for the flow of ideas and creativity, and sometimes I feel guilty for not taking advantage of it!

• Take more pictures! - I would love to document my life better, especially now that I have this blog. Although right now as a broke college student, I have nothing but a dinky little camera to work with and no plans to upgrade anytime soon. But, I think with a little editing and some patience, I could make it work!

• Learn to Cross-stitch! - I have a friend who cross-stitches, and I think the pieces that she makes are just so lovely! I would love to learn how and create some pretty floral pieces to hang up and give to my family and friends.

My First Post!

Hello, internet! This is Erin speaking!

I saw that as if we've only just met. Pfft. In truth, I spend a good portion of my free time surfing the web, reading and learning new things. I even have a personal tumblr that I've had for a year and a half now. But I've been wanting to have my own, real blog for a while now and I figured, it's a new year... why not start a new blog? At the beginning of a new year I'm always brimming with inspiration and motivation (as is everyone else, it seems), hopefully it will last!

As to what I plan to do with this blog, I figure I'll just go where the wind takes me. Don't know if I'll post every day, just every once and a while at first. I've followed a handful of fashion, vintage, and crafty blogs for a while, so I sort of have an idea of what I would like to post on here. Once I get the hang of it, I'll probably start regular outfit posts or craft DIYs, maybe I'll even upload some movie reviews (I am a huuuge movie fan! Netflix is my true love!) or some of my art (Starting my first semester as an art student in less than a week!! Eep!)!

I guess we'll see! I look forward to this new adventure and being able to share it with you!
